It is not surprising, nor new, to see the generous hands of Carrefour stretch above and beyond, to contribute with millions of customers who have realized the real meaning of Carrefour, in distinct social and charitable activities, the last of which most recently shone in the month of Ramadan, to consolidate some of the meanings that Carrefour derived from the holy month of Ramadan, the virtue and blessing.

Mr. Alan Johnvic, CEO of Carrefour stores in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, explained at the beginning of last month of Ramadan, that Carrefour will contribute to help widows and divorcees, and will double all the amounts donated by their customers throughout the days of the holy month, as part of their usual and serious quest of supporting and deepening the excellent relations between them, their customers and the social environment, the campaign extended more and more to reach the social networking site 'Facebook'; with every new subscriber to the facebook page of Carrefour, and throughout the days of the holy month of Ramadan, Carrefour donates One Saudi Riyal to the Virtue Organization “Jam’yat Al Birr” in the neighborhood of Fayha’ in Riyadh, this contributes directly in the care of many orphans, widows and poor families. Mr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Zaamil (the representative of the Charitable Virtue Organization mentioned) met in the main office of Carrefour Admin in Riyadh with Mr. Alan Johnvic who handed him over a check of 72,224 Riyals, for the Carrefour donation on behalf of the visitors on the social network, after doubling the amount of donations that was estimated during the month of Ramadan at 36,112 Riyals.

It is worth mentioning that Carrefour has made, during the past seven years, many social contributions, charities and services; for example, the development of the donation system that allows customers to donate a portion of the bills of their purchases to four well known charities, and its contribution to the resettlement and employment of Saudis, through which many Saudi youths; male and female were employed, Carrefour got a letter of appreciation from the Saudi Ministry of Labor on this matter, also its contribution to the Saudi Red Crescent Society in the national campaign to support the suffering of the brotherly Lebanese people, and its initiative effort in producing permanent eco-friendly bags as the first hypermarket in the Kingdom to preserve the environment, In addition to the endowment to the Public Authority for Tourism and Antiquities to support the products of the Saudi household market, and its contribution in supporting and financing a campaign of ‘Graduates Females and Functionality’ in the Kingdom, which received honors from Princess ‘Adela bint Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz’, also among the charitable contributions, the annual distribution of thousands of holy Quran CDs during the month of Ramadan, which promotes the continuous Carrefour prestigious position in the Saudi society, and always keeps it an active member and a leader in community services; and as one of the Saudis, that always strives to maintain its services and gain all members’ satisfaction.
